font size

Sponsored by WTO's Secretariat, a seminar was opened Wednesday in east China's Jiangsu Province on the worldwide textile and garment trend after the expiration of WTO's 10-year-long textile and garment agreement.

The expiration in January 2005 means that worldwide textile and garment quota system will be abandoned.

Designated for the Asian-Pacific region, the seminar, held in the city of Wuxi, attracted WTO members from the region.

Officials from the WTO, World Bank, International Monetary Fundand other international organizations will probe issues regarding conflict solution and international assistance arising from the global textile and garment trade.
