China to participate in new-type Boeing airplane manufacturing
font size

China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I) and China Aviation Industry Corporation II (AVIC II) Thursday in Beijing signed an agreement with the US Boeing company on joint manufacturing of Boeing 7E7s, a new type of passenger airplane.

An aviation company located in southwest China's Sichuan Province will produce aircraft rudders for Boeing 7E7s and another company in northeast Heilongjiang Province will produce parts and modules for 7E7s and other Boeing planes, according to the agreement.

The Boeing 7E7, to be put into use in 2008, is a new type of airplane still under development that can fly over 15,000 kilometers.

Currently Chinese companies are producing important parts for about 3,400 Boeing airplanes, accounting for one third of all Boeing planes being produced.
