font size

Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri stressed Thursday in Damascus that Syria attached importance to relations with China.

Otri made the remarks while meeting with visiting Li Meng, Vice-President of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Otri told the Chinese guests that Syria was giving the first priority to relations with China while seeking to develop all-round relations with various countries.

For his part, Li said China and Syria, both are developing countries, have shared many similarities in various fields and always supported each other on the international arena.

He hoped that the Sino-Syrian traditional relations would be put forward through mutual communications.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of common concerns.

Li Meng leading the CPPCC delegation arrived here Tuesday evening for a two-day good-will visit at the invitation of the Progressive National Front of Syria.
