Int'l security conference 2004 held in Beijing

World military officers have gathered in Beijing to discuss and exchange their views on current international and regional security and security challenges facing developing countries, CRIENGLISH.com reported Friday.

A senior officer from China's National Defense University said at the opening ceremony of the 2004 International Security Conference, that world security has experienced immense changes in the recent years.

World security issue has never been so closely linked to the fate of every country and safeguarding national security has never been so urgent.

Over 80 officers from 58 countries have joined in the two-day event aimed at seeking means to safeguard global security.
