China establishes air defense command academy
font size

China on Monday held the inaugural ceremony of the first air defense command academy of the People's Liberation Army in Zhenzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province.

In 1987, the air defense force became an independent branch of Chinese land forces. In order to accelerate the development of the air defense force, China decided to establish its first air defense command academy.

The main objective of the academy is to train the primary and intermediate commander, staff and technicians in the air defense force. The academy also will be the center of theoretical innovation, fight simulation and decision consultation on air defense.
