Inner Mongolia urged to achieve sustainable development

Vice-Premier Huang Ju has urged the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to further implement macro-economic control policy of the central government, to achieve an overall, coordinated and sustainable economic and social development.

Huang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has made a study tour in the

north China autonomous region, which is one of the largest energy bases and an underdeveloped areas in the country.

During his stay, from June 10 to 13, the vice premier visited cities and villages to check local economic situation and had meetings with local officials and ordinary people, including some layoffs from state-owned factories.

Huang also visited a coal mining company to show his interest in production safety and energy industry. Meanwhile, he urged local governments to safeguard ethnic unity and maintain social stability in Inner Mongolia.
