font size

Speaker of the Ethiopian Houseof Federation Mulatu Teshome said in Addis Ababa Monday that Ethiopia has a lot to learn from China's economic achievements made in a relatively short period of time.

Mulatu made the remarks while meeting with visiting Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Li Meng.

Ethiopia has been taking measures to achieve sustainable development, Mulatu said, adding that the country has designed a rural development strategy to improve the living standards of the people and ensure food security.

On the relations of the two countries, he said bilateral ties have been consolidated mainly in the economic, political and social sectors following the exchange of visits by high level government officials from both countries.

He noted that Ethiopia is keen to share the experiences of China in its endeavors to break the cycle of the periodical drought.

Li and his delegation arrived here Saturday for a four-day working visit to Ethiopia.
