Central bank: interest rate hikes subject to prices in months to come
font size

Mu Huaipeng, head of a research institute of PBOC noted at an investment forum recently that the central bank would not make any decision on interest rates hikes until it observed the price changes in June, July and August.

He said the central bank would give more play to interests rates and exchange rates for its monetary policy.

A market-oriented interest rates system will be in place gradually.
