Chinese, Uzbek leaders hold talks on further cooperation

Chinese President Hu Jintao and Uzbek President Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov held talks in Tashkent Tuesday morning on furthering bilateral cooperation.

During the talks, the two leaders also exchanged views on major regional and international issues and reached broad consensus.

Hu arrived in Tashkent Monday night for a two-day state visit.

In Tashkent, the Chinese president will attend a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization scheduled for Thursday.

Hu is on the last leg of his four-nation trip, which has already brought him to Poland, Romania and Hungary.
