In the third day of Euro 2004, teams in Group C took centerstage. Italy stifled by Danes, Sweden overturns Bulgaria.

Italy could only manage a 0-0 draw against a confident looking Denmark, while the day's other match ended with a 5-nil drubbing of Bulgaria by Sweden.

The Danes took control of the game early on and their wing-play tactics caused numerous problems for the Italian fullbacks.

Meanwhile the Italian side, one of the favorites for the tournament, only showed glimpses of their quality in the second-half after struggling to cope with their formidable opponents.
