Vietnam ratifies Beibu Gulf Demarcation Agreement
font size

The National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam on Tuesday afternoon approved an agreement on the demarcation of the territorial water, the exclusive economic zones and the continental shelf of Vietnam and China in the Beibu Gulf.

The NA issued a resolution to ratify the Beibu Gulf Demarcation Agreement, which was signed by the governments of the two countries in December 2000, according to a live report of the Vietnam Central Television.

Vietnam reaffirms its determination to maintain, along with China, the demarcation line in the Beibu Gulf in a stable and long-term way, helping preserve and develop traditional friendship relations between the two countries, said the resolution.

The Vietnamese government is assigned to build an overall program to implement the Beibu Gulf Demarcation Agreement, stated the resolution. It is also assigned to make specific plans for specific years on carrying out the agreement.
