Leaving the pain of defeat against France behind, England captain David Beckham vowed on Wednesday to win the game against Switzerland.
In the game with France, Beckham missed the crucial penalty, which led to the defeat of his team, but the captain thought he had gained his confidence back and would perform better when they face Switzerland.
"Nothing will defeat me. My mentality is to carry on until I win," said Beckham. "Everyone knows there are things that have gone on in my life that I have got over and I will continue to do that."
As the lead of the team, Beckham admitted that they felt frustrated after the defeat in their first game of the tournament, but he thought his team had gotten over from it.
"There is a lot of frustration from the France game and that will be taken out on Thursday. As soon as that whistle goes we'll be at them," said Beckham. "The anger is the good part for the players now. It's not anger where we want to go out and kick players. "
Beckham revealed how coach Sven-Goran Eriksson calmed the players before the game, and picked him up afterwards.
"The English mentality has always been about wearing your heart on your sleeve and that's not changed," he added.
As the spotlight of both England and even all over the world, Beckham thinks he has gotten used to this and insists he can handle the pressure.
"It's been the same for me like that for the past 10 years - I'm either up here or down there," said the England winger. "That's been a strength of ours, you can play the ball over the top and you've got Michael on the end of it."
