Croatia sticks to one-China policy: President
font size

Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said Wednesday in Zagreb that his country attaches great importance to its relations with China and will continue adhering to the one-China policy.

Croatia is also willing to play an active role in boosting trade and economic cooperation between Europe and China, as the country is making efforts to join the European Union (EU), said Mesic while meeting with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan.

The president hoped that the two countries seized the chance to further strengthen bilateral collaboration in the fields of tourism, economy and trade.

Zeng appreciated Croatia's stand on the one-China policy, saying China regarded Croatia as a good friend and partner in southeastern Europe.

He said that the Sino-Croatian relations will be further developed.

During his stay in Croatia, Zeng also held talks with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Vice Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and some business association leaders.
