On June 16, China UnionPay and MasterCard declared to issue international credit cards for Ningbo Commercial Bank. This is the first time for China UnionPay to issue cards under the cooperation with an overseas card issuer.

It is the China UnionPay that makes it possible for Ningbo Commercial Bank, an "affiliate member"of MasterCard, to issue the international cards in its own name.

China UnionPay hopes to bring more small banks from Chinese mainland into the international card market. And MasterCard is optimistic about the outlook of the international card in the mainland market.
