Chinese vice-premier meets US guest

China will firmly carry out its reform and opening-up policy and cooperate with foreign companies, including the J.P. Morgan Chase Co., said Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju Friday at a meeting with William Harrison, chairman and chief executive officer of America-based company.

"China's sustained and healthy economic development and its efforts to honor the commitments to the World Trade Organization have created great opportunities for foreign enterprises, including those from the United States," said Huang.

He expressed the hope that J.P. Morgan Chase would increase cooperate with Chinese financial institutions and pay more attention to China's west and northeast regions and rural areas.

Harrison said that J.P. Morgan Chase has attached importance to relations with Chinese financial and business circles.

The annual meeting of the international committee of J.P. Morgan Chase held in Beijing, which he is here for, signified that the company is more confident of making investment in China, he added.
