Sweden have ruled out any chance they would try and secure a result against Denmark that would guarantee Italy's elimination from Euro 2004.
Italians are worried that Denmark and Sweden could manage a 2-2 draw or more that would knock them out even if Italy beat Bulgaria in their final Group C game.
"It is not possible to play for a 2-2 draw against Denmark and I don't think it will end 2-2. That is a very unusual result," said Sweden coach Lars Lagerback on Saturday.
"Of course nothing is impossible in football and it could end 2-2. But it is a game we want to win - we will not be fixing it to draw.
"There is absolutely no question that we could arrange anything. You would have to have the cooperation of all 22 players and even then, who knows? - the referee could give a penalty to change the score.
"At this level you try to do everything you can to win, it is not in our minds to do anything else."
Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic also dismissed the 2-2 draw conspiracy theory. "This has not even been mentioned by any of the players. All we want to do is win the game, there is not even a possibility of anything else."
Earlier, Danish coach Morten Olsen said the game against their neighbors was Denmark's own final and they were desperate for victory. He said it was possible to try to play for a 0-0 draw, but not a 2-2 draw. "We have to play for a win and keep in the back of our minds that 2-2 is good enough to qualify," he said.
Sweden and Denmark head the group with four points from two matches and Italy follow with two after drawing both of their games against the Scandinavians. With two straight losses, Bulgaria are already eliminated.
