Paradorn wins Nottingham Open tennis
font size

Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand rallied from one set down to beat Thomas Johansson of Sweden 1-6, 7-6 and 6-3 and take the Nottingham Open title on Saturday.

After losing the opening set in just 20 minutes, Paradorn eventually found his rhythm from 1-4 down in the second set to win his first grasscourt title and become the first top seed to win the Nottingham crown.

Johansson, who claimed the Australian Open in 2002 but missed all last year with a knee injury, would have become the first qualifier to win the tournament, but was unable to triumph twice in the event following his victory in 2001.
