Iran detains 3 British naval boats, 8 sailors

Iran has seized three British naval boats that entered its territorial waters and detained eight sailors aboard, the country's state news channel reported Monday.

"The Iranian navy has confiscated three British boats that entered Iranian territorial waters and detained eight sailors, on the boat, they found weapons and maps," the report said.

The British ships entered the waterway near the boundary between Iran and Iraq, and the detained sailors said that they had made a mistake, according to the report.
