Israel-China Business Cooperation Conference kicks off

The Israel-China Business Cooperation Conference kicks off in Beijing on June 22. Mr. Ehud Olmert, Deputy Prime Minster of Israel and Minister of Industry, Trade, Labor and Communication and Xu Guanhua, Chinese Minister of Science and Technology present the conference and deliver speech.

Mr. Olmert says China is the major target of Israeli business in next decades. Israel has wide variety of interests in the Chinese market. Its key interests are high-tech, biotech, homeland security, telecommunication, information technology, environmental protection, agriculture and infrastructure. He hopes to expand cooperation with China in these fields. He says Israel hopes to make "a little contribution" to China's preparation of forthcoming Beijing Olympic Games.

Xu Guanhua says China has regarded Israel as an important partner in economy and technology. The Chinese government appreciates Israeli cooperation with China. He wishes this conference will be able to push forward long-term cooperation between Chinese and Israeli governments and enterprises. China welcome investment from Israeli enterprises.
