Defense attaches visit Infantry Academy

Fifty-four defense attaches from the embassies of 40 countries visited Shijiazhuang Mechanized Infantry Academy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Shijiazhuang, the capital of north China's Hebei province on Tuesday.

The PLA Shijiazhuang Mechanized Infantry Academy has been awarded for the importance it had attached to improving its ecological environment as well as environmental protection efforts.

At the end of the defense attaches' tour of ecological barracks area in the company of Jia Xiaoning, deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office of Chinese Ministry of National Defense, they were given an account of the PLA's environmental protection efforts by Zhang Renkuai, an officer from the PLA General Logistics Department.

Zhang also briefed the defense attaches on the on-going preparations for the Forum on the international military environmental protection, which was scheduled to be held in the national capital in October.

The defense attaches were invited by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense to visit the PLA mechanized infantry academy.
