3,345 Palestinians killed in uprising: report

The Palestinian National InformationCenter issued on Wednesday a statistic, saying that Israeli armyhad killed 3,345 Palestinians during the Palestinian Intifada, oruprising against Israel that erupted in late September 2000.The statistic dated from Sept. 28, 2000 until May 31,2004 saidthat at least 40,000 Palestinians were injured by the Israelisoldiers' gunfire.

It said that among the killed Palestinians there are 617children, 233 women, adding that 270 Palestinians were killed afterthey were targeted from air by F16 warplanes and Apache attackhelicopters, 90 of them were not targeted.

It said that 106 Palestinian pregnant women and patients died onroadblocks and checkpoints in the West Bank and Gaza after cars andambulances were taking them to hospitals were stuck after securitymeasures were tightened on the roadblocks.

The statistic said that 344 among those were killed since thebeginning of the Intifada, were police and general securityofficers after their posts and roadblocks had been targeted.The number of Palestinians detained by Israel hit to 7,200prisoners, including 6,066 are registered at the Palestiniandepartment of prisoners' affairs.

According to the statistic, the number of Palestinian housesthat had been destroyed either completely or partially in the WestBank, Gaza and Jerusalem area had reached to 62,888 houses.
