State-Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang paid on June 24 a visit to the current Second China International Exhibition on Police Technologies and Equipment.

Zhou is also a member of both the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

During his visit, the official called for improving the combating capabilities of the Chinese police through technological progress. He termed public security departments as a special force for safeguarding the country's national safety and social stability.

The biannual show could help Chinese police to learn about the development of international police technologies and equipment, and it is also helpful for the country to modernizing its police equipment, Zhou said.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the ministry, is held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall in central Beijing, between June 23-26.Over 80 companies from 20 nations and regions are attending the show with their exhibits.
