China, Vietnam to further develop ties

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxue voiced the hope Thursday that China and Vietnam would go on working together and implement the consensus defined by their leaders for the sound and steady growth of their ties.

During his meeting with visiting Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien, Tang said bilateral relations between China and Vietnam are faring well in general thanks to joint efforts of both sides. He noted that the foreign minister's visit has brought the views of Vietnamese leaders on furthering bilateral ties and properly solving problems existing between the two nations, to which China expresses admiration and gives positive evaluation.

The Vietnamese foreign minister's visit has yielded the positive outcome, he said, expressing the hope that the two sides will make further efforts to promote their ties.

Nguyen Dy Nien said Vietnam is willing to conscientiously implement the consensus reached by the two nations' leaders, properly solve existing problems, and promote the growth of bilateral ties.

The two sides also had an exchange of views on Asia-Europe cooperation.
