Three drug traffickers executed in C. China's Wuhan City

Three drug traffickers were executed Thursday in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, fortrafficking in large amounts of drugs.

The Zhengzhou Railway Transport Intermediate Court sentenced Guo Fei and Yu Zhuan to death on charges of drug trafficking. Thetwo criminals shipped 6,037.6 grams of heroin and 5,298 grams ofopium from Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, to Wuhan in mid-December 2001. The verdict also orders confiscation of allpersonal property of the two criminals.

The same court sentenced Zhang Hanchen to death on charge of another drug trafficking. Zhang was caught on July 18, 2002 inWuhan, when the police found 229.8 grams of heroin with him. Whenhe was under house arrest, he organized other people to ship 4,677.6 grams of heroin from a county in Yunnan to Wuhan. Zhang wascaught red-handed when he was taking delivery of the shipment. The verdict also orders confiscation of all Zhang's personal property.
