Nuclear freeze first step towards final abandonment, Wang Yi

Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in Beijing Saturday that all parties believed the nuclear freeze and corresponding measures were the first phase towards eventual nuclear abandonment.

The DPRK plan emphasized the first phase of nuclear abandonment while the United States plan stressed specific ways and measures for the complete nuclear abandonment, he said.

All parties have reached consensus on the first phase, Wang told a press conference.
