| 50th anniversary of Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence |

 Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh addresses a reception marking the 50th anniversary of the initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in New Delhi, India, June 25, 2004. The five principles were first initiated by late Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in early 1954 while meeting with an Indian delegation. Then in June of the same year, Zhou visited India and Burma (now called Myanmar) and issued communiques based on the five principles.
