Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Monday was invited to talk over phone with US Secretary of State Colin Powell.

During the phone talks, Powell briefed Li on the latest situation of the Iraq issue.

Li reiterated China's principled stance on the Sino-US relations in the phone talks.
