China trains ASEAN policemen in law enforcement
font size

Ten policemen from Cambodia completed a one-week Criminal Investigation Technology Course in China Monday and received certificates from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

They are the first group of policemen from ASEAN member countries to receive training from the MPS under the long-term China-ASEAN Law Enforcement Training Program signed by China and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member countries this January, according to the MPS.

"China and ASEAN member states have had good cooperation in fighting against transnational crime," said Liu Zhiqiang, director of the foreign affairs department of the MPS. "The training program is expected to improve the skills of the policemen and enhance the regional security."

China will train ten policemen from Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam respectively by the end of August. More training courses will be held for the law enforcement departments of ASEAN member countries later.
