Chilean navy vessel visits Shanghai

Chilean navy training sailboat Esmeralda arrived in eastern China's Shanghai on Monday for a five-day visit.

The warship is captained by Antonioidiaquez Bengoechea.The captain and other Chilean officers met with Chinese senior navy officers and civil officials in Shanghai and will visit local scenic spots in the coming days.

The vessel, with a crew of 324 onboard including 11 foreign officers from Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Japan and the United States, will mark its 50 anniversary of service during the visit, its sixth to Shanghai.
