Exports of southwest China's Sichuan Province increased by 32.4 percent in the first five months over the same period last year, valuing at 139 million US dollars, according to the latest official statistics.
The big increase mainly resulted from fast expanding exports from major large and medium-sized enterprises, the statistics show.
For example, the Qimingxing aluminum company in Guangyuan City exported 11.33 million US dollars-worth of products in May alone, or 12.7 times that of the same period of 2003.
Wuliangye, one of the most prestigious distilleries in the country, exported 16.62 million US dollars-worth of products, up 150 percent.
Meanwhile, however, Changhong, a major TV set maker in China based in Mianyang City, saw its exports to the United States stagnant because of disputes on dumping accusations by US counterparts. Its exports reduced by 22 million US dollars in May compared with the same month of last year.
