Macao to issue stamps to commemorate God of Guan Di
font size

The Post Office of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) announced Tuesday it will issue a special set of stamps Wednesday to commemorate God of Guan Di, an apotheosized historically real Chinese personality.

May 13 in the Chinese Lunar Year, which falls on Wednesday this year, has been a public day for offering sacrifice to Guan Di, who is currently widely worshipped among Macao residents.

The set of four stamps depict the images of Guan Di, namely Guan Yu, an important hero in famous Chinese novel "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms".

The four stamps have different denominations from 1.5 to 4.5 patacas (one US dollar for eight patacas).
