Andrade, Gomes likely fit for Euro 2004 semi-final
font size

Center-back Jorge Andrade and striker Nuno Gomes should be fit to play for Portugal in Wednesday's Euro 2004 semi-final against the Netherlands, team doctor Henrique Jones said.

The two players suffered ankle injuries in their quarter-final victory over England. They were due to take a full part in Tuesday's training session.

"There's a strong percentage chance that both will be available," Jones said. "Andrade has already come through a fitness test and Nuno Gomes should pass his today."

Andrade would start the game alongside Ricardo Carvalho in the back four, while Nuno Gomes may be dropped now that Pauleta is available again after suspension.
