Capriati to plays Serena at Wimbledon
font size

Jennifer Capriati set up a rematch against fellow American Serena Williams with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Russian 10th seed Nadia Petrova in the Wimbledon fourth round on Tuesday.

Seventh-seeded Capriati who beat Wimbledon champion Serena in the French Open quarter-finals, craftily pinned Petrova to the back of the court in a see-saw first set.

Despite her loss to the Russian in the French Open fourth round last year, the 28-year-old Capriati immediately broke in the second set and never relinquished her grip to claim her seventh Wimbledon quarter-final.

However, Capriati has never been beyond the last four at the All England Club, and it seemed to be true again as she will face Serena after the top seed easily disposed Tatiana Golovin of France 6-2, 6-1.
