Visiting Fijian Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase met Thursday in Xi'an with Jia Zhibang, governor of the northwest Chinese province of Shaanxi, and the two sides held sincere and friendly talks.

He said that Shaanxi is one of the origins of Chinese civilization, which has profound scientific, technological and educational power, as well as abundant natural resources.

The province especially has advantages in the tourism sector, in which the two sides could boost bilateral cooperation, Jia stressed.

Qarase agreed with Jia's views and expressed hope that the two sides could further cooperation in the sectors of tourism and information technology.
