Phoenix Suns new owner Robert Sarver is ready to pay 100 million US dollars to get Los Angeles Lakers star guard Kobe Bryant, according to reports on Thursday.

A source told ESPN that the Suns are prepared to offer the free agent a six-year deal in excess of 100 million dollars.

Bryant, 25, can resigned with the Lakers for seven years and around 130 million dollars.

Sarver led an investment group to acquire the Suns with 401 million dollars on Wednesday. Sarver, a banking and a real estate executive, owns one third of the franchise.

The Suns will try to meet with Bryant's representatives on Friday in Los Angeles, the source said.

The Los Angeles Clippers are also very interested in Bryant, according to various reports.
