Su Yiping and Xu Shaoyang finished runners-up in women's 100m hurdles and discus throw respectively, while Wang Zhouzhou and Wu Tao ranked second in men's high jump and discus throw respectively.

In women's 4X100m relay, the Chinese team bagged the silver in 44.84 seconds after Thailand's 44.37 seconds, failing to qualify slot for the Athens Olympic to be held in August.
