Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) met in Beijing on July 2 with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Akhmetzhan Yesimov, who is here attending the first meeting of the cooperation committee between China and Kazakhstan.

Jia listed the three major issues in Sino-Kazakh relations in the first half of the year, including the China tour by Kazakh President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, the meeting in Tashkent between the two heads of state, and the launching of the Sino-Kazakh cooperation committee.
He added that the establishment of the committee reflects the common aspiration of the two countries, and it also shows what level the bilateral cooperation is on. He hoped that the committee would carry out its job in an efficient and reciprocal way to achieve the satisfactory results.
He voiced his hope that the two sides would realize the agreements reached by the two sides so as to push forward the bilateral cooperation.
Yesimov said that the cooperation committee has opened its first meeting and completely started its work according to the agreement reached this May by Chinese President Hu Jintao and Kazakh President Nazarbayev.
The cooperation committee between China and Kazakhstan includes9 sub-committees, and covers all fields of cooperation between the two countries.
Yesimov said that the committee will play an important role in realizing all agreements between leadership of the two countries and in pushing forward the cooperation. He voiced his hope that the relations between Kazakhstan and China will be promoted.
