China's Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has led his national team-mates to win their first game of a three-game series against the Dallas Mavericks summer league team.
The Chinese team has been at their US training camp in Dallas for three weeks since mid-June in preparation for the Athens Olympics.
Yao Ming, the Rockets' all-star center, scored a game high of 22 points and 11 rebounds, leading China to an 85-80 victory on Thursday.
This was the second win that China has taken following their opening exhibition game against a group of NBA free agents, which China won 98-85.
The team, training under Mavericks assistant coach and national team coach Del Harris, will play two more matches against the Mavericks summer league team on the weekend before departing for home on Monday.
