US submits "terrorists" list to Kuwait: paper
font size

The United States has recently submitted a list to the Kuwaiti Government, which involves nine Kuwaiti citizens who are suspected of being concerned in terrorist attack, local newspaper Arab Times reported on Saturday.

Francis Town, Internal Security Advisor and Assistant to the US National Security Advisor, has visited Kuwait secretly and submitted the names and photos of the nine Kuwaitis to Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, said the paper.

The suspects have been wanted by the US authorities for their involvement in terrorist activities and bombing of the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen.

They have also been accused of encouraging youth to go for Jihad and fight against the Americans in Iraq.

Francis Town expressed surprised at the suspects moving freely in Kuwait even after their close relations with al-Qaida, adding the suspects had collected more than 150,000 US dollars within one week to carry out the bombing of USS Cole.

The Kuwaiti prime minister told Town that Kuwait is clean of terrorist activities and it is following a policy on the issue.
