Chinese general leaves Beijing for visit to Russia, Egypt, SA

General Guo Boxiong, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, left Beijing Monday on an official good-will visit to Russia, Egypt and South Africa.

Guo is expected to meet with government officials and military officers of the three countries during his visit and exchange views with them on issues of mutual interest, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Defense Ministry said in a press release.

His entourage is composed of senior officers of the Beijing Military Area Command, the Second Artillery Corps, the Chinese Navy, the Air Force, among others.
