Mongolian president confers medals on China's state councilor, other officials

Mongolian President Nachagyn Bagabandy Tuesday conferred North Star medals on China's State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan, Vice-Foreign Minister Wang Yi and former ambassador to Mongolia Zhang Delin.

These highest medals of Mongolia were given to honor their contributions to Sino-Mongolian relations.

The current visit is President Bagabandy's third China tour. Before coming to Beijing, he visited south China's Hainan island province and Macao Special Administrative Region.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the amendment of a treaty on friendly cooperation between China and Mongolia, as well as the 55th forging anniversary of Sino-Mongolian diplomatic ties.
