font size

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, called for more exchanges between CPC and Italian parties and political organizations.

Wang made the remarks Wednesday during his meeting with an Italian parliamentary delegation led by Tomaso Zanoletti, chairman of the Labor and Social Security Committee of the Senate.

Wang made positive comments on the fresh achievement of the two sides in establishing comprehensive strategic partnership relations and said the CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and contacts with all parties and political organizations of Italy.

Zanoletti spoke positively on the important role China played in various international and regional issues and expressed his admiration for the rapid economic and social development of China.

Major political parties in Italy will continue to be devoted to the promotion of the relations between the parties of the two sides and the two nations, he said.

The Italian guests were invited by the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU). An official with the International Department of the CPC Central Committee said that CAFIU usually invites a parliamentary delegation of Italy annually, in a bid to increase exchanges between the NPC and the Italian parliament.
