font size

The new law grants the interim government the authority to impose curfews under special circumstances, in limited areas and for a limited period, the office said.

It added that the a news conference to announce the details of the National Safety Law is set for later Wednesday.

The Iraqi government, which took over sovereignty from the US-led occupation late last month, has delayed the announcement of the law several times.
