US navy ship to visit Vietnam
font size

A US navy ship will dock at the Da Nang Port in Vietnam's central Da Nang city later this month, said a Vietnamese spokesman on Thursday.

Vietnam and the United States are making necessary preparations for the ship's visit, spokesman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Dung said at a press briefing.

The visit is a normal event in the development of US-Vietnamese ties, he added.

Last November, the USS Vandegrift arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, becoming the first US navy ship to visit the country since the end of the Vietnam War in 1975.
