font size

The general team of police for China's civil aviation has been formed and arrived at post to carry out their task of safeguarding civil flights, the Civil Aviation Administration of China announced in Lanzhou on July 8.

The general team is subordinate to the Public Security Bureau of the Administration and has sub-teams stationed in airlines across the country.

Members of the team are selected out from existing air security staff and policemen, and enrolled after strict examinations. The general team is formed jointly by the Administration, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Finance.

The major task of air police is to protect life and property of passengers by preventing and stopping hijacking, bombing and other illegal acts threatening and interfering flight security.
