Bush meets Moroccan kingUS President George W. Bush met with visiting Moroccan King Mohammed on Thursday and discussed bilateral relations as well as the upcoming free trade agreement with Morocco, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said at a briefing on Thursday. "The president and King Mohammed were pleased to discuss our excellent state of bilateral relations, including making the most of the upcoming free trade agreement that was recently signed with Morocco," McClellan said. "The two leaders also spent a good bit of time talking about the global war on terrorism and our cooperation in those efforts. They talked about the progress that we have been making in Iraq and Afghanistan and moving forward on elections and addressing the security situation in those countries," McClellan said. They also discussed the Middle East peace process and the issue of Western Sahara, McClellan said. Morocco has been an ally of the United States on the war against terrorism. |
