Two Turkish captives held in Iraq's notorious prison£ºreport

There are two Turkish captives among the prisoners in Iraq's Abu Gharib Prison, Anatolia News Agency reported Friday.

According to information got by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the names of Turkish citizens are 22-year-old Eyup Adil Selahattin and 36-year-old Ismail Ibrahim Serdar.

Iraqi Human Rights Minister Bakhtiar Amin earlier told reporters in Baghdad that there was only one Turkish citizen among the 29 foreign captives in the Abu Gharib Prison.

Meanwhile, Ahmet Tunc, a Turkish driver, lost his life in a recent attack on a convoy near Samara city, he added.

News that US troops had brutalized and humiliated Iraqi detainees in what had been ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein most notorious torture center, Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad, has dominated world media in recent months.

A conviction and sentencing on May 19 in the first court-martial linked to the scandal did little to calm passions.
