DPRK names new public security minister
font size

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has appointed a new public security minister, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday.

General Ju Sang Song replaced Choe Ryong Su, who was named to the post last July, on Friday in a reshuffle ordered by the Supreme People's Assembly, the KCNA said.

The report gave no further details of the replacement.

Ju became a candidate member of the central committee of the Workers' Party in 1970 and its full member in 1991.

He also served as a member of the DPRK's legislature in 1990 and 1998. His most recent post was a front-line army corps commander.
