The first test-tube baby conceived from a frozen embryo in China has been born in healthy condition in Shaanxi Province.
The baby boy was born in the No. 2 Hospital affiliated with the fourth military medical university on July 8th, weighing in at 2.95 kilos.
The complex operation involves retrieving fertile eggs from the mother and fertilizing and cultivating them in labs before they're implanted in the mother's uterus.
Doctors say the 35-year-old mother lost her ability to conceive after a pair of ectopic pregnancies three years ago.
