China hopes international community creates sound external environment for Myanmar's democratic process
font size

China hopes the international community will create a sound external environment for Myanmar's democratic process in the spirit of respecting Myanmar's sovereignty and non-intervention in its internal affairs, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue Tuesday.

Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue told a regular press conference that Myanmar's democratic process is a gradual process, which requires a stable and sound external environment.

She said China, as a neighbor and friend of Myanmar, hopes that Myanmar will have political stability, economic growth, and people's better livelihood.

China always deals with its relations with Myanmar in the principle of non-intervention in its internal affairs, Zhang noted.

She said China hopes to further its friendly cooperative relations with Myanmar in the spirit of building a good neighborhood and partnership.

Myanmar Prime Minister Khin Nyunt is now on a seven-day official goodwill visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. Zhang said during his visit, the two sides will confer on boosting bilateral cooperative relations in various fields.
